SYTYCD Premier!!

Photobucket

So excited.

Let the blogging begin!

LA has season 6 off to fabulous start in auditions... but I now remember why I don't blog auditions: too much crap to sort through! I will just give my opinion on the most important acts.. First off, dancer #1? What the eff is this? Birdy mohawk boy, you need some meds. Immediately. Secondly, Tap Battle = Awesome. This pretty much sums up my favorite things in episode 1.

My top picks from LA are:
Mollee (UT girl High School Musical dancer)
Ryan (Evan's Brother) Uh-maaazing tapper
Paula (girl in yellow) I barely saw any of your routine and I was still amazed. How do I know you? Your name is so familiar
And.... drumroll..... ALEXIE!!!! (former LG and my hero!)

I'm rooting you all the way to the top 20!

So excited to see Vegas this season, and more importantly the top 20 dancers! I can hardly contain my excitement to have SYTYCD back for the Fall season!

Yay Yay YAY!!

Poor Rocco :(

So... Because Misty and Maks withdrew from the competition, they announced the lowest scoring couple was Rocco and Karina. I feel bad. Rocco is terrible, but I LIKE him! It makes me sad that he is so awful; but I'm afraid there is no hope for him...

But let's start from the beginning:

Maurice & Cheryl performed a samba with a disco flare. I hated it. The costumes were awful, the routine was a bit cheesy. I think Cheryl could have put a better routine together for Maurice. The judges felt the same way...

Cody & Julianne danced a tango, and I believe they will be safe. It was not incredible but it was good enough to keep them safe. I think the judges have been a bit hard on them, but I think that's part of being the youngin'

Toni & Alec's samba was Toni's best performance thus far, in my opinion. She seemed more confident than she has in past performances. And I'm sorry, but her body is smokin'! I enjoyed the routine and think she will likely be safe this evening.

Cloris & Corky... Unbelievable! She actually DANCED! And it was a decent tango! I still can't stand her talking over the judges... especially when they are trying to give her her first compliments! Anyway, she still needs to go. I'm sorry. But it's true.

Rocco & Karina performed a samba. I don't want to go on because I like Rocco... but the bottom line is he will likely go home tonight. If there were any justice Cloris would go! Although, I think she deserves to stay this week over Rocco. Depressing.

Susan and Tony danced a strong tango. It was pretty good... but I don't know why I get bored when they perform. I DO, however, love how gracious Susan is. She respectfully listens to the judges critiques, and you can see she is trying very hard. I appreciate that.

Brooke & Derek must win this competition. (or Warren and Kym) Brooke was fantastic! She shook what her mamma (and surgeon hubby) gave her in a sexy samba! And it was allll good. She is a natural... and what's more, a natural with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE.

Kudos.

Lance & Lacey danced a dark tango... why is everything Lacey choreographs dark? Lighten up! You have the MOST experienced partner... I will say that this was at least a true tango. Good work.

Warren & Kym were great. I liked their samba a LOT. And I like that Kym has been on this show for a long time and it's great that she finally has a really good partner! I hope either Warren or Brooke win this competition...

What do you think?

Get Well Misty May

I'm very sad about Misty May's injury... it means no more MAKSIM! :(
Depressing.

I wish Misty May a speedy recovery!

Another note - My Tivo and I are in a huge fight right now. I missed Monday night's show and Tivo chose Prison Break as the higher priority and CANCELLED my precious recording! I am now going off of the snip-its they show in the painfully long results show! I think it is safe to do this every time if I wanted to... the basically show the entire episode during the results show anyway.

So here we go!

Warren & Kym - I have a crush on him too, Carrie Anne! I loved the 2 seconds I saw of this viennese waltz. He is such a teddy bear; and he performs so well I can't get over it!

Maurice & Cheryl - Did a jive  that got the judges attention... unfortunately, I didn't see enough to make that judgement. He seems to have some decent moves and enjoys performing. Which is good :)

Cody & Julianne - I don't like the way they pick on Cody, I think he is doing better than others!

SIDENOTE: I JUST heard them say Cloris is SAFE?!?! WTF man?! I was about move on to them and say Cloris needs to go. People... I don't know who are, but PLEASE STOP! Do not vote for people that hurt my eyes. I can't take it anymore. If Cloris ends up being the next Marie Osmond I may have a meltdown...

Toni & Alex - I'm sorry, but I get a bit bored... Same with Susan and Tony.

I think that cover it?

Right now I know that Brooke and Cloris are safe. OH! and Maksim's dance with Edyta (since Misty's injury) was super fun... the only thing NOT super fun? Maks' costume. Ew.

Maurice is safe.
Warren is safe. Yay!
Toni is safe.

Oh wait! So tonight... because Maks and Misty withdrew from the competition... no one will be eliminated tonight! But the bottom couple (who likely would have gone home) will be revealed.

Susan is safe.
Cody is safe.
Lance is safe.

Rocco was the lowest combined score :(

Come on Rocco! You can do it!

The Hills

It's been a while!

Sorry I have lagged on this... but TBH until Monday night I felt it was just more of the same.

Spencer being Spencer and Heidi looking like a complete fool by putting up with it. LC, Lo and Audrina forcing an absurd friendship.
Awkward... Party of 3!
Photobucket

And Stephanie lurking... waiting for the perfect opportunity to stir up trouble...

Which she did...

I really don't understand what the point of lying to Lauren about Doug was... You are being filmed on your dates, idiot! But nevertheless she thought this was the best plan.

I can't get over how terribly RUDE Spencer was to Heidi's mom. If that were my mother Spencer would have been backhanded. By my mom then ME! I don't understand how Heidi doesn't see it. Actually... scratch that. I have friends who have been in similar situations that seem to never "get it"

Sad.

Someone please help me understand WHYYYY Lauren is OK with Stephanie's explanation of her and Doug's dinner... but then erasing his number... but still going to his Bday party?? uh... WHAT? You could see LC's wheels turning... but nope. Nothing.

PS - I commend Stephanie's talent for the crocodile tears.

Gearing up for Week 2!!

So far we have said goodbye to Jeffrey Ross and Ted McGinley... I'm sad to report Cloris Leachman is still kicking. How long will people keep voting for her because she is cute and old? I know it sounds cruel... but it's actually makes me cringe when she is dancing. I feel awful.

Let's see what week 2 has to offer!

So... I don't know about everyone else but I was left rather disappointed Monday night. Everyone was off. Well... not everyone.

Julianne and Cody were terrific in their Rumba, he is simply adorable. And despite he judges comments I thought Rocco and Karina's Rumba was good too. I really like Rocco! The judges need to back off! Warren and Kym's Paso was the best of the night... The other couple of MY top 3 was Derek and Brooke. They did a great Paso Doble as well

Who needs to go, you ask??
CLORIS
KIM

For sheez.

My ranking is as follows:

1. Warren and Kym
2. Brooke and Derek
3. Julianne and Cody
4. Rocco and Karina
5. Toni and Alec
6. Misty and Maks
7. Susan and Tony
8. Maurice and Cheryl
9. Lance and Lacey
10. Kim and Mark
11. Cloris and Corky

Maks... PLEASE get Misty in the groove! I love you and don't  want to see you go :o(

PS - Kim went home. Big surprise! Too bad we don't get to make fun of her ass anymore...

DWTS - Part Deux

Dude.

First of all WHY do they change the format EVERY season?? I was counting on Men's night and Ladies night! Instead, because I missed last night's premier, I missed an entire round of dancing! So lame.

Now that I have let that out... Let's talk dancing!

Lacey and Lance:
Quickstep... way too contemporary. I'm sorry, but don't like the addition of Lacey as of now. I didn't like her in SYTYCD and I don't like her here. 21

Maks and Misty: Mambo... out of control, but I love Maks so please Misty! Get better! She is energetic, however, and seems to feel comfortable on stage. Could work VERY well for them. 21

Cheryl and Maurice: Mambo... VERY entertaining, I love Cheryl's choreography. She does an excellent job of making her partners look like they are having fun... perhaps because they have to put out a lot of energy to keep up with her! 21

Derek and Brooke: Quickstep... Brooke you are SOO HOTT! I seriously need to hit the gym. She looks divine... a bit nervous but that is to be expected. I like that Derek is challenging her in the choreography. The judges are kissing her @ss a bit too much for me but I definitely enjoyed it. 26

Cloris and Corky: Mambo... OMG I think Cloris is the cutest thing on the planet. I'm not sure how long I will want to watch her dance. Actually yes I do. This is the last time I want to watch her dance. And apparently the judges agree. 16

Allan and Toni: Quickstep... She danced OK, but looked GORGEOUS (except for the eyeshadow) You can see the wheels turning the entire time she's performing, but it's early in the game and I think she gave a good performance overall. 23

Kym and Warren: Quickstep... Rehearsal looks like its not going so great... but I was honestly SO pleasantly surprised! That is a BIG BOY! Len is right that the technique is lacking, but he did very well for the 1st time out with the quickstep. I would like to see him stick around! For his attitude if nothing else. 22

Ina and Ted: Mambo... Contrary to my feelings about Lacey, I like the addition of Ina... Ted is so very sweet, and is trying so hard, I like him. I'm afraid to see what happens to him, but he is darn cute. I would like to see him stick around for a bit. 19

Julianne and Cody: Quickstep... Julianne is stunning as usual, and her costume is beautiful. Cody looks so young! I bet he has the biggest crush on Julianne :) She has a talent for making her partners look FANTASTIC. Truly. He has great potential, and she will be his greatest gift. 23

Karina and Rocco: Mambo... missed hand grabs on Rocco's part... but it had to be an improvement from last night's 4 (Len's score) Karina's latin choreography is stellar; I believe I have said it before. He has much to learn, but he is a delight and I would not mind seeing him stay. 21

Tony and Susan: Quickstep... Susan is very elegant, and you can tell she is trying VERY hard, unfortunately she is quite stiff throughout the first 3/4 of the routine, but it was refreshing to see her come out of her shell at the end! I think she needs to get a little confidence and perhaps she can go far! She looks genuinely thrilled with her scores. My gosh that woman is SOOO skinny! 22

Mark and Kim: Mambo... for so much @ss, she really doesn't know how to work it. Interesting... Mark danced it SO over the top to compensate (as Len said) but I want to see her stick around to see what wardrobe does with her in later episodes. 18

Edyta and Jeffrey: Went home tonight... Sadly I missed their performance last night. I feel bad that Edyta made it so far last season and went home first this go around. (And I wont get to make fun of her speaking).

Did you watch? What were your thoughts??
